P4W: Strange Memo Field Font Behavior

P4W: Strange Memo Field Font Behavior

I have a user who was given a P4W application developed by his brother to
manage biology lab supplies.  This means that my user has no clue about how
his table got to behaving as described below & I can only go by the behavior
that I see and by inspecting objects.

The behavior is that when entering memo edit mode, the font changes to some-
thing like Times Roman Condensed.  When I inspect the field it shows that the
font is set to Ariel.  This behavior is consistent regardless of whether it is
in the normal table view, or in the table frame on the form in the application.
It is also consistent under version 1.0 and 4.5 and on different computers.

I tried to duplicate this behavior, but have been unable.  Can anyone explain
how this is happening?

Check the active printer driver.  If it is Generic/Text Only Paradox will
only allow fonts that are not scalable, i.e. Roman.  Switch to a printer driver
that will do graphics and the problem will go away
