Is there a way in a form to get a memo field to fill the screen while you are
filling it in but go bak to a smaller size while you are just viewing it?

Yes,  check out setposition and getposition.  When you enter the field,
get the position and size of the object and save it.  Then set the
position to the new size, then when leaving re-set the position.
Cheers!
