Para-Scope V1.2 *New* - Drill Down Graphs

 Para-Scope V1.2 *New* - Drill Down Graphs

Para-Scope is an add on module that can tremendously extend the
usability and life cycle of your Paradox 4.5 for DOS applications!
Recent studies show that about 50% of PC's are still DOS.  Although
this market is slowly shrinking, it will continue to be a major part
of the PC market for some time to come.  Can you really afford to
ignore this major market segment?

How does Para-Scope add so much usability to your DOS application?
Simple - it adds user interactive, decision support "drill-down" Trend
Graphs to any application.  Interactive "drill-down" Trend Graphs
means your user can begin to review their data graphically, and by
selecting a sub-set of the displayed data, they may "drill-down" and
display only that sub-set of data and, subsequently, it's sub-sets of
data.  Additionally, Para-Scope allows the user to traverse up and
down the many "limbs" of this logical data tree at will...
interactively...  without any specific technical knowledge!

And now, Version 1.2 has two powerful new features.  The ReDirect
feature allows "jumping" from one "limb" of data to another!  This
empowers the user to isolate highly specific data as sub-groups.
Another feature, the DateXAxis feature, allows you to define graphs
with Para-Scope that have variables other than dates as the X Axis
variable.

Until now, these "Decision Support System" capabilities have only been
available in very high priced packages aimed at large corporations.
But now, Para-Scope brings this power to YOUR Paradox application.
And your users will love it!   You can incorporate Para-Scope features
into your application and offer it as a new release (and a new revenue
stream) after only a few hours of work!

Can it really be that simple?  In a word, "Yes".  Para-Scope is
completely table driven.  It allows you to easily define Trend Graphs
and their properties; define the source Databases; define Filters that
screen, join, and/or calculate new fields; and define Rulesets that
govern how sub-sets are divided and presented to your user.

Trend Graphs - A database that defines characteristics of each Trend
Graph such as time periods (Daily, Weekly, Monthly, etc.), the X-axis
date variable, the Y-Axis data variable, the "drill- down" data
variable, the Graph Type (Stacked Bar, Line, etc.), Graph Titles and
many others.

Database - Identifies a source database.  Only requires that you
define the complete path and name of the database.  Para-Scope is
unique in that it needs no bulky Data Dictionary to maintain.  It also
does not store your data redundantly, but instead pulls it's data
directly from your operational tables.  This makes it's disk space
requirements nominal.

Filters - Defines a pre-process that can be invoked allowing you or
your user to eliminate unused fields (sometimes improves graphing
performance), join other database fields to the Trend Graph, or add
calculated fields to the Trend Graph.

Ruleset - Can be used to define exactly how data sub-sets are
sub-divided and presented to the user for further "drill-down".
Rulesets can be chained together to provide unlimited "drill-down"
levels.  Rulesets also have several tools to help you automate the
creation of Rulesets.  Para-Scope also has the unique ability to
dynamically create a default Ruleset during "drill-down" when one is
needed but not specified.

Para-Scope has two entry points:

User Entry - Designed for the less sophisticated user.  Allows users
to select from a list of defined Trend Graphs.  If the Trend Graph
definition allows, the user may engage in "drill-down" analysis.
Also, if the Trend Graph definition allows, the user may select the
Trend Graph Edit Screen and modify the Trend Graph Definition
(although not permanently).  Does not allow the establishment or
editing of Databases, Filters or Rulesets.  For the purposes of this
demo, all Trend Graph definitions have been set to allow the user to
drill-down, but not to edit the Trend Graph definition.

Pro Entry - Designed for the Application Developer or sophisticated
users.  Does all the User Entry does but also allows the user to
establish and/or edit Trend Graphs, Databases, Filters and/or
Rulesets.

And, yes, Para-Scope is network sensitive.  It can support as many
concurrent "UserEntry" users as your network can.
