 Yikes ! 32 bit BDE performance !

Holy disk thrashing queries Batman !

Help! I'm converting a 16bit Delphi/BDE/Paradox
application to 32bits and my application's most
frequent query went from taking 1 second to over
60 seconds on a Pentium Pro 200 !

Here it is :
Select * from Table1, Table2 where
  Table1.Field1 = 100 and Table1.Field2 = 200
  and Table1.Field3 = Table2.Field1

Table1.Field1, Table1.Field2, and Table2.Field1 are all
indexed fields.

Table1 has 70K+ records with each record having 70
fields that account for about 200 bytes of data.
Table2 has 3 fields per record.

Did Microsoft do the 32bit port of the Paradox driver ?
What's the deal ?
