Sorting a Keyed table in Paradox 7 ?

Create a secondary index on the Priority field (named xPriority),
at the form level declare a Uiobject variable and attach it to the
tableframe in the arrive built-in method at the page level.
in the pushButton:

method pushButton(var eventInfo Event)
        ui.switchIndex("xPriority")
endmethod

To reset the view, in another pushbutton:

method pushButton(var eventInfo Event)
        ui.switchIndex()
endmethod

Assume you are using Paradox for Windows.
You may try to define Secondary Index for the table,
in your case  select Priority field and give it a name "siPriority" say
then you can use switchIndex() to change the sort order.
Depends on the display you are using, if you use table (named tableInventory
say), then you use  tableInventory.switchIndex( siPriority )
to change the sort order.
Well you have to look up the manual or on-line help for the exact syntax.

Hope this helps!

Suren, you need to do some reading. You've got your hands on Jaguar and
you're not sure how to start it up. 'Sort' gets very little use these
days when it comes to tables. Everything is done with Primary and
Secondary Indexes.

What you need to do is go into table restructure and create a secondary
index from the top-right drop-down menu. Everytime you open the table
directly you must select table/filter and select the secondary index.

For a form, you do into the data model designer,right-click on the table
object and set the filter the same way.

Enjoy the ride,

Use modify structure, and create a secondary index. Whenever you want
to use this sort order as the basis for displaying your table or using
the info in a form, just select filter, and select the secondary
index. That's all there is to it.
