Old computers/ networking and pdox 5.0

I am currently about two weeks from doing a beta on a client management
system for a unit of my police department. The system is a pdox 5
application. My chief, seeing the importance of the project, has
graciously given up her computer (486 66 with 8 megs) for the use of the
unit. Her boss had given her his old computer (ps2 55 with 4 megs).
I began the installation yesterday, and to my suprise noticed that both
computers had ethernet cards installed !
You know what I'm thinking. I was wondering:
1) Would linking these two computers and placing 5.0 on the 486 give good
performance on the 386?
2) What's the cheapest and easiest way to network the computers ?
3) If you think that a WinPdox application would be to slow, how about a
Delphi application ?
Any help, anecdotes, experiences doing a similar implementation would be
greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

No, unfortunately.  You can't do "client-server" that way.

Just file sharing?  Lots of ways.  Quickest is get WIndows for Workgroups.

On a model 55 (is that a 386SX?) You don't want to run PDOXWIN5 at all.
You need to set perm swap file to at least 6 megs, which robs it of any
speed to speak of.
