Cannot load driver error when loading Alias Manager

Hi,

One of our developers encountered the following problem. Your inputs will
be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Peter

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Problem: "Cannot load driver" message generated when we try to connect to
the server using the Alias Manager of Paradox 5.0 with SQL Links 1.0 for
Oracle. The server is Oracle 7.

Communication between Oracle SQL Plus on the client and the Oracle 7 server
has been successfully established on the same computer we're trying to
connect using Paradox 5.0 with SQL Links 1.0 for Oracle.

My first guess is you didn't include ORAWIN in your PATH

Version 1 of SQL Link will only work with version 1 of SQL*Net.  If Your
SQL*Net is version 2 you will need to upgrade your SQL Link.  The message
you are getting is due to the fact that the directory c:\orawin\bin (or
its equivalent) is not listed in your autoexec.bat path statement.  Also
make sure that oracle.ini and tnsnames.ora are properly configured.

For complete information on making the connection go to library 18 on the
PdoxWin CompuServe forum (SQL Link forum) and get a copy of my postings
there.  They include complete sample configuration files including IDAPI.
