 PFW: printing reports from queries

I've having a leetle problem with a query-based report.  It _may_ be that I'm
pushing the data models a little far, but I can't find any direct reason for
the following not to work:

The report has the following model:

CURVGLAS->>CURVSUB
|
JOBSUB
|
JOBMAIN

The report itself is grouped on JOBSUB.JNum (the link to JOBMAIN), with
the record band printing fields from CURVGLAS (obviously) and a CURVSUB
table.

To print it I use the following query:

queryStr = "Query\n\n" +
        "CurvGlas.db | INum  | \n" +
        "      check | _link | \n\n" +
        "  JobSub.db | INum  | JNum        | \n" +
        "      check | _link | " + job + " | \n" +
        "\n\nEndQuery"

This works - I get the CURVGLAS records I'm after (which is usually only one
anyway), the job header's correct, and the appropriate records for CURVSUB
are printed in the table.

However...  I'm trying to filter records from the CURVSUB table.  After much
playing around, I finally produced the following and tacked it on the end:

        " CurvSub.db | INum   | Code    | \n" +
        "      check | _link2 | not XYZ | \n" +

... with _link2 defined as an example element in the original CURVGLAS INum
field.

But does it work?  Not on your nellie.  Not only does the CURVSUB table still
show the records it did before (ie., the filter fails), but the CURVGLAS
record is printed twice!

Okay, this is non-critical ("because I say so" is beginning to work as a
design justification), but I'm puzzled.  If I guessed that the query is only
used to select the _master_ records to print, would I be on the right track?

Muchos gracios, butting

The problem with querystring is IT IS ONLY APPLIED TO THE MASTER TABLE
(as far as I can tell).  I tdoes NOT affect the details tables at all.
