Paradox 5.0/7.0: how to run scripts and MULTI_TASK???

Hello Paradox experts,

I'm a relatively new programmer in PDW, so please forgive me for the
ignorance...

I have noticed that when I run a script/Query in PDW 5.0/7.0 in Win95, it
takes over the whole
environment so I cannot flip to another application or do anything else
UNTIL the script is
complete. It's quite annoying esp. when the script I'm running is tediously
long. Is there another
way around this? Like a command line parameter or something?

Another thing: how can one BREAK out of a script/query while it's running?
It's very useful
if I noticed something wrong (one second after pressing the start button)
to be able to
halt the program. Ctrl-Break/Ctrl-C etc. doesn't seem to work... Any ideas?

thanks in advance for all your input.

Guess I'm still a PDDOS user at heart... :(

Paradox 7 shouldn't actually prevent you from switching to other
applications.  It will prevent you from using Paradox and may slow your
computer down to the point where it is impractical to use other
applications.

Supposedly in queries you can click on the cancel button on the status
window to cancel the query.  However, I have found that this rarely
works and when it does, it takes quite a while to respond.  I guess
Paradox just "tunes" everything else out.

You should be able to use <Ctrl>+<Break> to stop a script.  This usually
works.  However, like queries, Paradox sometimes chooses to ignore you.

In my experience with 3.5 Dos Pdox ctrl break seemed to not work on queries
such as changeto, insert, delete after a certain point since pdox was
committing the changes to the tables or records...In a simple query when
you are simply retrieving information, simple ask (whether multi table or
not) Pdox seemed to respond pretty quickly and cancelled the query
