It sounds like you set a password. Check there.

or

If you have a previous copy.  Go into it, create a clone, then import
to the clone from the problem database and go to town.

Layout Pop-up Menu No Longer Accessible

Chris,

Do you mean the layout pop-up in the status area? If so here is what you
need to do. Go into layout mode, select the menu MODE > SET LAYOUT ORDER...
Then make sure that every layout you want to be pop-up have a check mark
next to it.

Good luck.

Have you set security options to prevent it ?

If not, go into layout mode and pull up check to see if you
have arranged it so that the layouts don't appear on the menu.
'Mode' --> 'Set Layout Order', look for ticks on the left hand
site.

No.  If you don't read a newsgroup, don't post there.

Layout Pop-up Menu No Longer Accessible
I seem to recall this being an issue on Windows 98 with Filemaker, but you
don't say what platform you're on and I don't remember if there was a fix.

(lotta help, huh???)

:
: I removed useless layout, and the layout popup became available again.
: There are 66 layouts now. Surely this is not the upper limit.
:
: I also created another test db with about fifty layouts in it.
: It would not pulldown after fifty five layouts. I removed the last
: five layouts to get fifty again, and the pop-up became available again.
: Then I added a couple of layouts and got the little scroll arrows. It
: became unavailable again after 55 layouts had been made, so I brought
: it back down to 52 layouts.
:
: It remained a "scrolling" pop-up with arrows at top and bottom
: until I added several divider "hyphenated" layouts.
: Then it folded into the multi-columnar layout pop-up menu I'm used to.
: I increased the number of layouts to well over seventy with no ill
effects.
: I'm not sure why I reached a limit on my real db.
:
: There must be some glitch in the layout pop-up that decides not to create
: the menu if certain screen size parameters are not met. I get about fifty
: lines
: on my screen for the popup. Has anyone else met with this strange
: phenomenon?
