 part numbers and part descriptions

I have a few thousand part numbers w/descriptions to add to my database.  I
need an efficient way of handling all of this information, too big for a
pull down or pop up.  I would like to be able to type in either field, part#
or part description, and see one or the other magically appear by tabbing
over.  Does this mean that I need two separate files?

James,
You could put a portal onto your layout that displays all your part numbers
and descriptions. Set the fields in the portals to buttons which invoke a
script that copies the relevant data into your fields. Then all the user
would have to do is scroll through the portal and click on the desired
fields. If you have some problems setting this up I could whip something up
and e-mail it to you privately.
