 repeating field find rep #
Is it possible to do the reverse of the GetRepetition function --
meaning, can I use a text string which matches the contents of one of
the repetitions and find out -which- repetition it matches?

Hi,

I am sure this is possible to do by looping down through the repetitions (set a
counter to keep track of what repetition you are on), comparing the contents of
each repetition to your search string (a global field might work well to hold
the search criteria) to what's in each repetition, then recording the counter at
the matching repetition (another global field may work well for this), then you
got it.  You can then reference the specific repetition by using: GetRepetition
( repeating field , GlobalMatchCount)

If you need to loop through all of your records and if the search string you are
looking for could be in any of the repetitions, I imagine it could get messy
though.  This may be another good argument for using related instead of
repeating fields.
