 weird relation for portal
The normal way to do the relation is matching fields:
DATE = date2

BUT!!

Can I make a portal with a relation were:
DATE > date2 and DATE < date3
or
date2 < DATE > date3

Yes, you can do this.

In your "master" file, make a global field and put a "1" in it.

In the "related" file, make a stored calculated field like this:

If (DATE > date2 and DATE < date3,"1","")

Then the field will contain a 1 or a blank. If there is a 1, the
relation will be valid.

There are other ways to do it, but I chose the one that seemed to match
your question.

I usually do them like this: If (test,parentID,"")

so that the parentID is what gets put into the field if the test is true.
