Hello

I have just loaded FM5 Win98 and the dates are in USA format...MM DD YYYY
but I want them to be DD MM YYYY..do I need to reload FM?

Toni,

Select the field and Select Format, Date. You can set the format in any way
you want.

If you want to change the default, click on the background of the layout
(not on any field) and select Format, date and set it up the way you would
like.

Hi Toni

FileMaker Pro takes its date format from the system settings.  You can
override these using the Date command in the Format menu but only on a
field by field basis.  If US date formatting is affecting all date fields,
and the databases where showing Aussie date format before and not now, you
need to check that the system settings haven't defaulted to US formatting.

I downloaded a FileMaker file that was formatted for a European country;
here's how I got the file to start re-formatting:

Save a clone of the file: this ensures that your system settings are
used.
