Since I put my db on Fmserver5 my files works incorrect.
Normally when you open a file you go to a layout ( via document pref )(for
example : login layout)
But on the server the files are already open.
How can we solve this problem ?

Thanks in advance

Hi user -

You don't provide much detail about what process your solution is going
through when you "open a file," but when I open a database hosted by FMServer
(or FMPro) using the Hosts list, or using a local "opener" database, the
startup script I have specified under document preferences runs and I can use
it to go to the layout of choice, so I haven't experienced your problem.  If
you are using a script with the "Open..." step to RETURN to a database in your
solution, you can easily call an external script in the target database
instead, taking you to the layout of choice.

Hope I didn't misunderstand, and that these suggestions are helpful.

Best of Luck -
James

Don't forget to remove the obvious spam block when replying.
I advocate making an address book entry and using it!  Thanks!

Have you installed remote administration on another computer?  With this
ability you can close the file, open it locally, change your preferences,
document to go to layout upon opening, then locally closing the file,
finally using remote administration to re-open the file on the server.
