 Web Security

I'm putting a searchable archive of images on the web (FMP4), and I want
certain people to be able to edit the records, while the general user
can only view them. The scenario I have working now uses the web
security database, which itself is password protected (because the
instant web publishing allows full access to it otherwise!!!). I'm using
instant web publishing to allow all the editing, but there is a CDML
entrance for regular users. I've made users in the web security database
which give all the privileges I want. But this means the general (CDML)
entrance also needs a user/password combo to get in. Making it 'All
Users', overrides the individual users so that nobody can edit the db.
So my temporary solution has been to provide a user/password on the
entrance page for guests to use. I would like to be able to get rid of
this requirement. Is it possible to send FMP a user/password combo in
the GET request? Is there another way to do this?

Thanks for any help.
