Help Moving FM5 to New PC
I think the problem with the Dell in my earlier post was
due to the limitation of running more than one copy of
FM5 on the same network.  I have a small network and
was moving files from my old computer to the new one.
FM5's readme says the program will not run if the same
license number is registered to another computer on the
network.  I deleted both copies and tried to re-install on
the new machine, but it still won't run.  Any help really
appreciated.

Thanks,

"but it still won't run" is probably not a complete description. Exactly
what happens?  How did you delete both copies? If you merely removed the
executables, the licenses still appear to be there. Remove everything in the
FMP folder(s) (except, of course, files). Use Uninstall if possible. The
problem most likely lies with the ghost licenses.

I called Filemaker and the problem was a conflict with a program that comes
pre-installed in new Dell Workstations called "Yamaha SoftSynth" or
somesuch.
The Yamaha program is a "mini" midi synthesizer app and when I removed it
Filemaker worked fine.
