Hi,

I'm wondering whether anyone can advise me, before I go too far, on an
efficient way (if there is one) of entering multiple rows into a portal using
a web form.

What I've started with is an online form that presents a list of (100+)
titles stored in dbase1.Next to each title is a checkbox which respondents
check if their institution (library) holds the title in question. Once
submitted, this would feed the value of both the institutionID and the
titleID to the portal (many) dbase for each checkbox marked.

What I can't figure out is whether Filemaker / Web Companion will allow me to
add multiple portal records in this way. If yes, does this require some sort
of looping function? (So far, I've only gotten as far as adding portal record
with multiple values added in the titleID field.)

Expanding on my original question: in the event that the Web Companion does
not support what I'm asking about (i.e., creating a new portal record for
each checked value in a list)  --and please tell me if it does!-- would there
be a way to run a script in Filemaker that would process the records,
creating a new record for each value stored in the TitleID field?  (This way
maybe I could process the records after everyone has completed the survey,
and retain the relational aspect of the database?)

I'm sorry if this is a naive question. I've not done much scripting in
Filemaker, so I'd just like a general sense of whether I'm off base before
progressing too much further on the survey that I'm designing.
