WinNT Service - Filemaker Pro 4?

WinNT Service - Filemaker Pro 4?

I'm considering buying Filemaker Pro 4--mainly to hook databases into
my Websites.  I've downloaded the trial version and am testing it out.

But I can't figure out if FMP will run as a service under Windows NT
4.

I checked the FMP support Web pages and couldn't find an answer.  Can
anyone help me out?

Thanks!

P.S. A cc to the address below would be very useful as I'm not a

I think that Filemaker Pro 4 doesn't run as a service under WinNT. Mainly
because you have to have the shared register opened to be able to access
it from a website. Thus you have to have the Filemaker application
running. If you want to have a service running I suggest that you take a
look at the FMServer. It runs as a service, I think. However, I've been
experiencing trouble in connecting to the FMServer from HomePage, which I
think you want to use. Therefor I've posted a Q about that. I'm awaiting
an answer to it.

I hope I didn't discourage you. Even if you run the FMServer you will need
the Filemaker Pro 4 as well. That's the only way to administer your
registers.
