Using FM 5.5 and OS-X, I'm attempting to create a PDF file from a FM report.
The report is formatted in a landscape configuration.

After using Print PDF and opening the file using Acrobat 5.1, I find part of
the report is being cut off on the right hand side. Paper orientation is
correct.

Any solutions?

TIA,

Barry Brown

Make sure you do a Page Setup command and examine things there before
you print.

I found out more about this problem. First, to may be important to say that
I just installed 5.5 on my iMac with OS X. This is an upgrade version and I
was previously using FM5.0 with OS 9.1 on my older computer. No printing
problems were ever encountered with this configuration. I copied FM5.0 to my
new computer using ethernet in order to successfully install 5.5. I then
discarded v5.0. BTW, data files were copied in the same manner.

Now to the printing problem - it has nothing to do with Save to PDF. Even
though I've selected the proper page orientation with Page Setup, and
confirm the result in Layout mode, a hard copy printout of the document also
has part of the report cutoff on the right, just as it would if printing
with a portrait setting. After printing is complete, I return to Layout and
find the page break has been reset to portrait but the page orientation is
correct.

Further, I opened another datafile that has a report with a landscape
orientation and it printed fine. The page break did not change. I tried
creating a new layout in the first datafile but the problem still occurs.

Hope you can help.

Check the size of your margins by going (in layout mode0 to
Layouts->Layout Setup, and mark 'use custom margins' and then set all
your margins a little wider than the default.

I had the same problem using Filemaker 5.5 and WIN2000.  To fix this problem
running Win2000 I had to make sure the Windows default printer is using a
Post Script Print Driver.

Hope this Helps.
