 Import and export questions

Hi!
I was trying to import and export some specific fields (10 out of
120) in a filemaker pro v.5 database into dbf format in order to
open it with excel.
I selected not to display the dialog box in the scripting command,
so that I am not prompted to choose which fields are exported or
imported everytime. Filemaker pro saves the specific fields I want
to export or import but only if I use the same table.  When I use a
different table(with the same structure) it forgets which fields I have
selected.  How can I save the particular fields even if I use different
tables?
Thanks!

 Import and export questions

Hi kwong -

FMPro doesn't use tables, but if you mean that a scripted export you save
in one database isn't remembered in another, that's by design.  Scripts are
part of the databases they are created in, they don't run globally.  It
sounds like you are used to a different DBMS and are learning about FMPro
as you go.  I'm sure you can conceptualize it with a little review of the
manual and some experience.  If you need more help, the group is always
here.

Best of Luck -
James

Don't forget to remove the obvious spam block when replying.
I advocate making an address book entry and using it!  Thanks!
