Restarting Record Number In SubSummary Previews?
How can I restart the record numbering in subsummaries?

I would like to see record numbering start anew when a subsummary
starts anew.

TIA

Restarting Record Number In SubSummary Previews?

Add a relationship called SelfSub that has the break field for your
subsummary part on both sides.

Add two new fields:

TempNumber (number)
ReportNumber (calculation, number) = TempNumber - Min (SelfSub::TempNumber)
+ 1

Place the ReportNumber field on your subsummary report layout where you want
the record numbers to appear.

Sort your records as needed for your report.  Go to a layout that has the
TempNumber field on it.  Use the Replace command on the TempNumber field to
fill it with serial numbers starting with 1 and incremented by 1.  Go to
your subsummary report layout.  Preview or print as needed.  Find all
records.  Go to the layout with TempNumber again.  Use Replace on TempNumber
to fill it with nothing ("") and you are ready for the next time.  [This
whole paragraph can be scripted to automate the process]
