which ip for FM on NT?

which ip for FM on NT?

Hi,

On NT, it's possible to define several ip addresses.  Which one does FM
use?

My problem is that I want to host FMweb AND a web server on the same NT
machine on the SAME port (80) because other ports are blocked by most
firewalls.

My plan solution was:
- specify 2 ip addresses to the NT
- link one ip to the web server (use port 80); I can do that with the
Netscape server
- link the other one to FM (also port 80)

BUT FM does not let me specify the ip to use, moreover it seems to block
both addresses???

please reply to my email too

thanks

Vincent,

In WinNT server you can define as many IP addresses you want (however
Microsoft says it is five <smile>) but those IP adresses must have a WWW
DNS resolution. In other words, if you have two IP addresses that you
want to make available to the web they must meet DNS resolution at the
internet level NOT at intranet level.

Once you have done that, just specify the IPs to the respective servers
i.e.,IIS (an assumption) and the FM web.

I am running a similar case scenario with total success.

Should you need any further assistance please send me an e-mail.

TTYL!
