 Numbering related records
I am trying to number records in a related file.  The files are related
by
client numbers.  Each client will have a number of related records, is
it
possible to number each record from 1 upwards.  I.E client 55 1-9
Clients 56 1-8 and so on.

Thanks

Danny

Danny,

In the main file, Go to related records, show only related records, in the
related file; replace number fields with serial numbers starts at 1
increment by 1.

In the manual, page 10-25, it says: To number rows in a portal, use Paste
Special to paste the record number into the first portal row.

In your case, I would also include the client number next to the pasted
record number. (This record number changes with each record because of the
Paste Special symbol.)

This is very true.... Now I have a question about this.

Is there any way to get this to work w/ FMP 4 for Web w/ CDML.  There's
basically "Jack-Sh.." in the manual, online, or filemaker.com site.

Please cc me via email when posting.. I'm desperate!

Thanks!

Sorry I can't help you there. I have not used or worked with the Web part
of FileMaker yet.
