Getting CDML cgi commands to work over intranet.

Getting CDML cgi commands to work over intranet.

I have run into a snag trying to get the CDML Examples from Filemaker Pro
Developer CD to run correctly over my intranet.  I am very new to this and
followed all of the directions to a tee, however, can't get the examples to
work correctly.

I copied the CDML Examples folder from the developer CD to the web folder
within the Filemaker Pro directory.  I opened the files in Filemaker and set
the sharing and web companion plug-in and nothing happens.

However, if I run Personal Web Server and designate the home directory to the
Filemaker web folder I am able to view the html pages. However,  the links that
contain CDML cgi commands do not work, which posts a "page cannot be displayed"
error.

Is there a conflict with using PWS and filemaker?
Is there a TCP/IP port conflict?
Thanks in advance to all that reply.

Have a look at http://www.bull.usyd.edu.au/fm_doit/ and double
check this statement.

Yes - read the manual - you cannot run FileMaker's Web Companion Web
Server
and another web server on the same TCP/IP port (in this case, Port 80)

Yes.

Turn off PWS. Use a browser. Point it at the computer running FileMaker,
by typing in "http://computers.ip.address.here/"
Let us know what happens...

To T.Booth,

Thankyou for replying to my post.
I found out shortly after posting my message that I need to install FileMaker
WebServer Connector.
Do you have experience with setting this up?

If you do have experience, can I run this application with Win98 and PWS, or do
I need Windows NT or 2000 Pro?

Thanks again in advance,
Steve
