Goto related from portal --how do I get the selected portal row

If I use the goto related (only show related) script from a portal, I cannot
get the specified Item to come up first.  I do get all of the related
records for the portal....just not selecting the one I want.

Example : Customer.fp3 with relationship to Jobs.fp3 via customer ID number.
Customer.fp3 has portal that lists job numbers and descriptions from
Jobs.fp3 sorted by job entry date.  Selecting a job from this portal list
(lets say the 6th job from a list of 12) will take me to the list view of my
jobs.fp3  but it will only select the last record in the list---not the one
I wanted.

I will be switching the script to go to the form view as soon as I can get
the proper record to display.

There must be a simple answer to this, as I'm sure it has been asked before.

Thanks in advance,

In my experience, it always puts you on the related record which you had
clicked on in the portal. Is a script interfering?

Mike,
I think Paul is right. Your description does not seem completely clear on
one point: selecting a job from your portal will not take you anywhere. I
guess you click outside the portal to activate a script, but by doing so
you deactivate the portal. Your script button should be inside the portal
as a separate 'Go' button or as an invisible button that covers the portal
row.

Great Answer, Hans! I had assumed that he must have had his button in a
portal row. You were thinking larger, and I'm sure that's what's
happening to him.
