Looking for a calendar plug-in or other solution that provides a monthly
view allowing me to view info from specific fields (such as group name,
quantity in group, etc.), in a database used to track reservations for a
conference center.  The calendar plug-ins I've seen relate to personal
scheduling and aren't appropriate to what I need.  Any Ideas?

That sounds to me more like a matter of filtering relationships to the data
in the ways you describe. I'd be surprised if you needed a plugin, as what
you describe is what Filemaker is supposed to do on its own.

I'm presently beta testing the new version of Appointment 1.... from
http://www.dwdataconcepts.com/

Have a look at it, maybe you can combine this with your own solution.

The new version should be out soon.

If you want a Roman calendar month view you need to divide your layout
into 7 columns and set the height of the body section to display 5 or
six rows on a page. Then with a record/date and appropriate number of
records with blank dates for each month you can display a full month
view in the Preview mode. The catch is you can't modify any information
in this mode, just view or print it.

Barry,

Thank you for your response, but I must admit to not understanding most of
what you are describing.  I understand the 7 x 5 layout representing the
extent of all months but I'm clueless to the rest.

I assume this layout would be Table style.  How do you represent each field
as a day?

What do you mean by "Then with a record/date..."?

I've created a very functional Filemaker database for reservations, but this
is my first time using FM and I'm still learning of it's capabilities.

Uh, the idea Barry is describing, as he says, comes up against the big FMP
wall of being unable to display data in columns as well as rows. "Unable",
at least in Browse mode (or without some clever manipulation). That means
you couldn't really use the graphical functions of the solution, but could
just view or print them. I'd suggest you keep looking. If you are new to
Filemaker, creating a full fledged calendar solution, with the little boxes
for each day that look like a calendar, but accept dynamic data entry,  can
be pretty challenging. On the other hand, it's the sort of thing many
developers build at some point, and there are usually some that show up in
searches as sort of low-cost ware.

This is correct. To edit daily information, I use a different screen
having the same format as one day on the printed calendar. Since my
app's output is a printed calendar, it isn't a big deal for me,
although it would be nice to click on a day in the preview mode and go
directly to the edit screen.
