Stay on record

 Stay on record
How can I stay on the same record when I switch from one mode to another? I
write my records in Browse mode and then switch to Preview to print or email
them. Problem is, I have to search through them to find the one I just
edited. Is it possible to stay on the same record when chaning mode?

 Stay on record

Preview mode always takes you to the first record...You could make yourself
a button which performs a script. You write this script to a) set a global
variable to the current record ID, b) Find the records you want, c) Enter
Preview mode, d) Go to  record with the ID fetched from the global variable.
A bit convoluted, I know. Maybe someone else can suggest something more
elegant!

Bill, you may care to check out my article called "Refinding Found Sets" at

as to how to return to your current record.
