 Finding unique field entries
Hi all,

I'm trying to create a field that will count the number of unique
entries in a field throughout my database.  For example, we have a
field that holds dates.  We need to count the number of different dates
in that field throughout our database.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Ryan

Create a valuelist from the date field in question. This will contain
only unique values.

Create a calc field =
ValueListItems("DBName"; "Value List Name")
This lists all the unique dates. This calc field must be unstored (or it
won't work).

Create another calc field =
PatternCount(CalcField; "?")+1

The thing between the quotes is the paragraph symbol - in case it
doesn't come out in your newsreader. The +1 is because the last item in
the list won't have a para mark after it.
