DB2 UDB 7.2 on RedHat7.3/intel install error (tcpip)

Hi,

I want to install DB2 UDB 7.2 on RedHat7.3/intel, but i don't get it running
properly.
First i do a standard server install (no firewall) for Linux.
Then I install the required packages required for DB2 .

When i start installing DB2 by using db2setup the first thing i notice is:
When creating an Instance i cannot change anything in the TCPIP properties.
---^ I think this is the whole problem ^---
Installing DB2 on AIX or solaris (i did this MANY times) allways allows me
to change this option.

However, if i simply go on with installing, it installs without errors.
But:
- The 2 "db2 socket" lines in /etc/services are not added
- No DB2COMM parameter is set
Correcting everything by hand doesn't solve the problem

I can connect locally to a SAMPLE database, but no DB2 client outside this
machine is able to connect. (socket errors)

I won't be the first person with this problem.
Please Help.

What version of DB2 are you installing ?

The Personal Edition has the limitation that no connects
from outside could be establised to this
databaseserver (only local connects).

HTH.

Best regards

Hi,
I just found the answer myself
It was the NIC driver which is on the RedHat7.3 distribution (onboard
broadcom NIC in DELL PowerEdge 2650) which did not function like it should
be.
Basic functionallity was there, but not enough for DB/2
After installing a "old" 3c905cTX it worked OK
Now i will install the latest Broadcom drivers, and i don't doubt it won't
work :-)

Now i will try to
