 Runtime DB2 client installer strangeness

I'm using DB2 6.1 running on a Solaris server.  When I set up
a client on NT 4 to use it, the runtime client installer works
ok, connects to the server when configured properly (the test passes)
using the CCA, but then when I press the Bind button, the results
window gives many errors about a file not being found on the local hard
drive, resulting in the bind for that particular item failing.

As a result, the ODBC driver apparently doesn't work after that.

The problem does not occur if everything is uninstalled, and the
client SDK is installed instead, when installed otherwise identically
to the RTC.  This was with the most recent versions of the RTC and SDK,
as found on IBM's ftp site through the tech library on IBM's web server.
Was I doing something wrong or is something in the RTC installer?

There should be a component on your NT RTC that is 'System Bind Files' (or
something like that - I don't recall anymore).  They aren't needed in all
situations, so if yours is one of these, you can use less diskspace.  This
doesn't sound to be the case for you, so go ahead and install them.  You'll
need to do a custom install to get the option.
