 Is the type 2 or type 3 JDBC driver faster?
DB2 UDB WE 7.2 FP 8

Generally speaking, which is faster:  
  the type 2 "app" or the type 3 "net" DB2 JDBC driver?

Depends on your requirements.

Type 2 is way faster and more stable if you are handling large streams of data.
