 long field names in db2
Hi, I'm trying to fit db2 backend to a legacy database (powerflex)
system. A minor problem I have got is that the powerflex database has
some fieldnames over 18 characters. Is there a way to get db2 to
understand these long field names? Other than the obvious i.e. change
the field names in the powerflex database and code.

Not sure why you're having a problem ... if you're using DB2 UDB
Intel/UNIX, V6 and later supports 30 char column names.

Hi,

What version of DB2 are you running and on which platform.
DB2 on distributed platforms supports >18 character column names since
V6 I think. Most other tight limits got removed by V7.
