 restoring from a db2 v5.2 backup
A coworker has uninstalled db2 v5.2 on our development machine.  I
reinstalled but am not sure that I am at the same fixpack level and am
trying to restore from backup files but all I get is the following
error.

SQL2542N  No match for a database image file was found based on the
source database alias and timestamp provided.

Any help would be appreciated...

Mike

 restoring from a db2 v5.2 backup
hi mike,
on winNT the path to the backup file is case sensitive (i.e.
DBNAME.0\DB2\NODE0000\... usw)
and must all be in uppercase. i had the same sql code when i did create
the folders for myself and
wrote it in lowercase.

hope ths helps
eric

 restoring from a db2 v5.2 backup
I was using the gui interface, but I suppose it would look something
like the following...

restore db was user db2admin using db2admin from C:\backup\db2v5\was.0\

on the gui, I chose to create a DB from a backup image.  In the file
directory selection dialog, I created a path of C:\backup\db2v5\was.0\
I both entered the date and time of the backup and in subsequent
attempts, did not as there was only one image in the directory.  I also
tried using a path to the underlying directories wrt was.0.  None of
these attempts worked.  They all returned the indicated message.

In your case the path needs to be only C:\backup\db2v5\ . The rest of
the path, udb appends based on the database name and timestamp.

Hope this helps.
