Trying to install WebSphere on Linux with DB2

I am trying to install WebSphere 4.0.1 on Linux using DB2 also running on
Linux.  I try to startup the admin client and end up with the CNTR0019E and
CNTR0020E errors in the WebSphere tracefile.  I found one reference on IBM's
web site that says to make sure to bind db2cli.lst and db2ubind.lst and to make
sure usejdbc2 gets sourced in the db2 user's profile.  I did this and I still
get these errors.  I can't say that this is the only problem that I've had
with this software, but this one is a bit of a show stopper.  What the hell is
going on with this damned thing?
