 IDENTITY_VAL_LOCAL with Visual Basic
I need to invoke identity_val_local() function from Visual Basic
application, after an insert on a table with IDENTITY column
(DB2 V.6 for OS/390). I'm using IBM DB2 Connect V7.1.

Could you help me?
Thanx.

 IDENTITY_VAL_LOCAL with Visual Basic

I'm sure there is a proper way to do this (and I'm not sure of the VB
syntax, but I'm sure you can convert it), but a fudge is to do the following
directly after your insert...

select    identity_val_local()
into        :iYourVarHere
from        (values(1)) as temp

We needed to use this because we use a proprietry language with limited
access to UDB development kit APIs.
