 db2 agents settings

Hello All !

I play a little with db2 agents settings and have two questions:

1. There are relationship constraints for some agents parameters, but are
they explicitely listed anywhere ?

BTW, there are some strange situations eg. having the following agents
settings:

Priority of agents                           (AGENTPRI) = SYSTEM
Max number of existing agents               (MAXAGENTS) = 350
Agent pool size                        (NUM_POOLAGENTS) = 200
Initial number of agents in pool       (NUM_INITAGENTS) = 0
Max number of coordinating agents     (MAX_COORDAGENTS) = 350
Max no. of concurrent coordinating agents  (MAXCAGENTS) = MAX_COORDAGENTS
Max number of logical agents          (MAX_LOGICAGENTS) = 350

,I issue:

C:\>db2 update db manager cfg using maxagents 200
SQL5153N  The update cannot be completed because the following relationship
would be violated: "max_coordagents <= maxagents".

OK. I agree. Then I issue:

C:\>db2 update db manager cfg using maxagents 400
SQL5153N  The update cannot be completed because the following relationship
would be violated: "max_coordagents == maxagents".

So what , for suck, is the relationship betwenn max_coordagents and
maxagents parameters ?

2. I can see that some agents settings are made as eqal to others parameters
eg.

db2 get db manager cfg:
[...]
Max no. of concurrent coordinating agents  (MAXCAGENTS) = MAX_COORDAGENTS
[...]

But how to issue such a command to obtaing eg.

(MAXAGENTS) = 350
(MAX_COORDAGENTS) = MAXAGENTS

setting

instaed of

(MAXAGENTS) = 350
(MAX_COORDAGENTS)=350.

sincerely Olek

These are discussed in the Administration Guide, either in the
description for each individual configuration parameter or in the
"Database Agents" section of the "Operational Performance" chapter. I
think by reading those sections you'll find answers to the rest of your
questions too.
