 Authentication Types

Hi ,

Wondering what the main considerations are for deciding between the
authentication types SERVER and SERVER_ENCRYPT on UDB 7.1.

On the configuration side, I understand that both the client and the
server parameters of authentication has to be set to SERVER_ENCRYPT for
the authentication type to be SERVER_ENCRYPT. Is my understanding right?

How will the server send the paswords if it needs to retive the
information from the network(like on NT if the user is present on a
trusted domain), will the passwords be encrypted if authentication is
SERVER_ENCRYPT?

Thanks for any input.

Regards

Zennu
