 Linux and VI communications

I'm looking into setting up a high speed interconnect between several
DB2 servers running Linux and EEE 7.2.  I asked about this a few weeks
ago and I received a response from Boris leading me to a press release
indicating that DB2 now supports VI on all platforms not just Windows.
I know I need to set several registery variables including :

DB2_VI_ENABLE
DB2_VI_VIPL
DB2_VI_DEVICE

But I can't find any documentaion on how to set them.  I was able to
set DB2_VI_ENABLE to ON, but the admin guide only addresses a Windows
setup.  I'm assuming that VI is supported if I'm able to set this
registry variable to ON.  Can anyone point me to more documentation on
how to configure VI support with Linux and DB2, or offer advice on how
to finish the configuration.  I need to know how ot set the two
remaining registery variables and I'd like to know if there is a way
to confirm that VI is actually being used by both DB2 and high speed
switch.  We already have a switch in place and we are using it with
TCP/IP.  We had a bit of trouble getting the drivers working in the
first place, but getting VI should be worth the performace gains.

Thanks in advance for any information.

These are all documented in the release notes:
