Disk to Disk move of DB2 DB

Disk to Disk move of DB2 DB
Has anyone found a way to properly move a database from one disk to another
disk on NT without using db2move or backup/restore scenarios?

I've attempted moving the database from one drive to another and then
manually editing the system database directory files to no avail.  DB2
Version 6.1 Fixpack 3 in use here.

Thanks ahead of time for any response.

Andrew, can I ask why you don't want to use backup and restore to do
this?  That would be the best way IMHO.

Kelly,

I agree that backup/restore is probably the best way to do it as
backup/restore contains a whole slew of error and structure checking
that a file copy certainly can't do.

However, there are two possible uses for this:
1) Moving a database from one server to another the quickest way
possible.
2) Creating a copy of a production database without disk space/backup
media requirements

Both of these have been requested of me from time to time and I've
found a way around them with Oracle and Progress.  Typically, I'll find
that a tape drive or disk space is not quickly available and a file
copy would easily fit the bill.  I was surprised to find that DB2 kept
container tags in a proprietary (and therefore uneditable) file format
outside of the DB's catalog tables.

Primarily, we'll be doing testing from box to box to box and wish to
reduce the amount of time in between.
