 DB2 multiple instances

Hello all.
Have a question regarding two DB2 instances running on the same AIX server.
Instances are "db2inst1" (instance home is /usr/lpp/db2inst1) and "db2test"
(instance home is /usr/lpp/db2test).  How can users easily switch between
both
instances?  We are running DB2 UDB EEE ver 7.1 with fixpak 2 applied.  If
I'm
attached to the db2test instance, I've tried "switching" to the db2inst1
instance by enter ". /usr/lpp/db2inst1/sqllib/db2profile" but that doesn't
seem to work.  Any info provided will be appreciated.  Thanks.

I've got the following shell in my /etc/profile to allow users to switch:

setinst()
{
    db2 terminate 2> /dev/null > /dev/null
    insthomedir=`/usr/lpp/db2_07_01/bin/db2usrinf -d $1`
    . $insthomedir/sqllib/db2profile
    unset insthomedir

}

Now if I run 'setinst db2test', it will switch me to db2test's environment.
I think the key you're missing is that you need to run 'db2 terminate' before
you can use the new DB2INSTANCE environment.

Make sure your environment variable DB2INSTANCE is set to the correct
instance
name after you source the profile.

Anand.
