 V7.1 Java Prepared Statement Problem

Hi

I've written a simple Java program in which I'm trying to insert rows in
a DB2 table, using PreparedStatement.
This runs well with the 60 Day trial of DB2 V6.1. When I am using the
Personal Developers' Edition V7.1 I am only getting the first three or
so rows inserted. After this I get an exception thrown by

myPreparedStatement.executeUpdate();

this reads :

[IBM][JDBC Driver] CLI0615E Error receiving from socket, server is not
responding. SQLSTATE=08S01 ( Repeats 14 times )

Exception in thread "main" COM.ibm.db2.jdbc.net.DB2Exception: [IBM][JDBC
Driver] CLI0614E
Error sending to the socket, server is not responding. SQLSTATE=08S01

   at COM.ibm.db2.jdbc.net.DB2Statement.close(DB2Statement.java:225)
   at myProgram.main(myProgram.java:172)

 I am using : COM.ibm.db2.jdbc.net.DB2Driver and
 con=DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:db2://127.0.0.1:4333/myFile","db2inst1",
"ibmdb2");

I have written various other similar test programs, all which run under
V6.1 but fail under V7 which the same kind of error. Is there a problem
with PreparedStatement on  DB2 V7 Personal Dev. Edition ?

Any help will be greatly appreciated !

SQLSTATE 08S01 means that your program cannot establish the connection.

Are you sure you have db2jd running and listening on port 4333 ?

if no, then launch db2jd 4333 et try again.

Hi Bruno

I have been using db2jstrt 4333. There seems to be a connection at first as two or
three records are being written before the error occurs.

I'll try db2jd and see if this works ( I'm not in my office at the moment )

Thanks, Ross

check if DB2JD is running after this error. if it's still
running, you may try the v7 interims-fix
(ftp://service.boulder.ibm.com/ps/products/db2/fixes/english-us/v
7interims/os2/, windows and other platforms are above this url).

maybe JR14897 was your problem.

&&--h>32;){d=r;r=r*r-n*n+b;n=2*d*n+e;}System.out.write(b>0.98?10:h);}}}}

Thanks for the information - DB2JD is still running after the error.

I looked at the above site - I'm using the Linux version of DB2 and the fix
you mentioned is scheduled for
September 15th. I tried running the  U472079 fix, but this has not solved
the problem.

Best wishes
