 UDB V6.1 on windows 2000
High to all,

we're trying to install a UDB V6.1 runtime client on a windows 2000 machine
and having problems with TCPIP ;
before we go searching further I'd like to know if this is at all possible ?
Does anybody have experiences with this ?
Thanks very much.

 UDB V6.1 on windows 2000

Hi !

yes, it is possible, and we're quite successfully doing that here.
your mileage may vary though. generally i would suggest using the
db2 7.1 clients on w2k, if you have these available. other than that,
the only advice is that one of the newer fixpacks (FP5, or FP6) will help
with client problems on the client side too. as for tcpip, we're connecting
to various db2 databases on unix boxes using only tcpip here, so there
should be no problem.

one last word about fixpacks: you should preferrably use the fixpack level
that is installed on the server side. this avoids some known problems.

yours
Stefan Marte
