DB2 UDB 5.0 EEE on AIX 4.2.1 Snapshot Monitor Problem

DB2 UDB 5.0 EEE on AIX 4.2.1 Snapshot Monitor Problem

We are running DB2 UDB 5.0 EEE on a RS/6000 with 4 CPU and AIX 4.2.1.
The database is configured as a single partition.

We cannot collect any data for any of the bufferpool related elements after
we
turned on the monitor switches for the bufferpool, all the values show as
'Not Collected'.
The 'reset monitor' command is also not working.  We can only reset the
counters
by restarting the database manager.

Anybody aware of or encounter these problems before? There is nothing in the
apar list of the DB2 5.2 ( fixpak 6 ) related to the above problems.  Any
help
is appreciated.

Thank you.

DB2 UDB 5.0 EEE on AIX 4.2.1 Snapshot Monitor Problem

I just tried it out here with the same configuration and this is what I get:

Quote:

> uffer pool data logical reads             = Not Collected
> uffer pool data physical reads            = Not Collected
> uffer pool data writes                    = Not Collected
> uffer pool index logical reads            = Not Collected
> uffer pool index physical reads           = Not Collected
> uffer pool index writes                   = Not Collected
> otal buffer pool read time (ms)           = Not Collected
> otal buffer pool write time (ms)          = Not Collected

> B20000I  The UPDATE MONITOR SWITCHES command completed successfully.

> uffer pool data logical reads             = 0
> uffer pool data physical reads            = 0

> uffer pool index logical reads            = 0
> uffer pool index physical reads           = 0
> uffer pool index writes                   = 0
> otal buffer pool read time (ms)           = 0
> otal buffer pool write time (ms)          = 0

What is the output of "db2 get monitor switches"?  After I turn the bufferpool
switch on I get:

Quote:

>             Monitor Recording Switches

> Buffer Pool Activity Information  (BUFFERPOOL) = ON  01-07-1999 10:32:34.668907
> Lock Information                        (LOCK) = OFF
> Sorting Information                     (SORT) = OFF
> SQL Statement Information          (STATEMENT) = OFF
> Table Activity Information             (TABLE) = OFF
> Unit of Work Information                 (UOW) = OFF

When you reset the monitor switches are their any errors?  What snapshot are you
taking, is it a database snapshot?

DB2 UDB 5.0 EEE on AIX 4.2.1 Snapshot Monitor Problem
We turned on all the monitor switches before we took the snapshot, and
that was a database snapshot for all databases.  The output of the get
monitor switches command shown all switches were on.

There was no errors after the reset all command, and we don't have this
problem
on our test  machine.

Thank you for your attention,
