QMF has an option for PC/IXF, but the file cannot be imported into DB2 7.1.
Does anyone know if  this is just not supported or is there away around it?

Thanks, Margo

There are versions of IXF.   (v1, 2, 3. ..)
See the header record of the file.  One of the fields is the version number.
The file format is described in the DB2 doc.
If the header has a version number that the 7.1 doc does not support then ...

You should state on what platform runs QMF since they do MVS, windows, etc
versions...
You should also state on what platform DB2 7.1 runs.

QMF is running on NT connecting to DB2 6.1 on OS/390. DB2 7.1 is running on
Windows 98. I guess what I really want to know is where it is documented
which IXF versions 7.1 supports. Since it doesn't work I assume what I have
doesn't support the IXF version I am exporting (V1). I'm wondering if there
is somewhere I can download an IXF engine that will handle that version.

Db2 V7.1 (NT) export format is IXF version 2. I didn't have any
problem importing IXF version 1 from DB2 5.2 on NT into V7.1. It looks
like there is some kind of incompatibility with the QMF IXF format.

Maybe it's an option to export from DB2 OS/390 using a NT client? This
will generate a useable IXF file.

Hope this helps.

Caused by code page difference?
Also
Did you read on/tried the FORCEIN option on import, ... ?

Note: Data types must match/be compatible on both sides.  (mainframe and pc)

Depending on why it does not work. (error message?) you may find that
the problem is only related to a certain datatype.
Ex: in the doc, you can find special considerations for varchar fields > 254.

The error was a bad version in the H record. I finally got around the
problem by changing the product id to 'DB2    01.00'.
