HOWTO: Backup to tape on UDB 7.x in Win NT
 Hi...
Does anybody know how to backup a Database to a tape
under WIN NT ??
 The command should be :
BACKUP DATABASE <DBName>User <UID> using <PWD> TO \\\\.\\TAPE0 WITH 2
BUFFERS BUFFER 1024

That doesn't seam to work... I get a message : Please mount the tape...

I can't find a way to mount it.
 Tried Initialize tape... Works fine
Any help on this matter would be appriciated...

Use of tape devices or floppy disks may generate messages and prompts
for user input. Valid response options are:
    c
Continue. Continue using the device that generated the warning
message (for example, when a new tape has been mounted)

See also the WITHOUT PROMPTING switch of the backup command.

The only procedure i know for this is to  put  the cartridge in the tape
drive.
If it does not work, try removing the cartridge packaging and initialize the
tape
before you insert it in the drive.  Also verify that these is not currently
another
cartridge in the drive.

(hope you have a good sense of humour)

See also the Rewind and Set tape position commands.
On NT, i think the  tapes have to  be initialized first, then i guess you have

to rewind and then backup.
